About
Wayne Mills

Established in 1910

Established in 1910, Wayne Mills Company is a family-owned and operated textile mill in its fifth generation. The mill’s 80,000+ sq ft compound is located in Philadelphia. Wayne Mills is known for producing a quality product and delivering it on time.  Our highly-trained staff members offer many years of experience to better meet your needs. We are proud to offer superior customer service and look forward to designing a custom product to fit your needs, or quickly delivering a product from our large inventory of stock patterns. Wayne Mills is a member of the Narrow Fabric Institute (NFI), a division of the Industrial Fabrics Association International. Officers of Wayne Mills have served on the NFI Board of Directors for many years.

Our company has a strict in-house quality control program that includes lab testing to ensure the consistent production of high quality products. We regularly check break strength, elongation, wash fastness on dye-to-match colors, and thermoplastic adhesive performance at various temperatures.

Awards

Wayne Mills has received numerous awards from the City of Philadelphia for exceeding the standards on our wastewater disposal. We take pride in operating our dyehouse using dyes and chemicals that do not harm the environment.

History

Weaving at our
Philadelphia factory
since 1910

We have been weaving twill tapes, bindings, and light webbings at our factory since 1910. From a time when our steam was produced from coal, and yarn was delivered by horse and wagon, Wayne Mills now uses the latest technology to produce woven tapes. From our warping and weaving machines to our continuous bleaching and dyeing ranges, we excel at blending older skills and technologies with the latest high speed equipment. The company has successfully reinvented itself several times over the years as fashions changed and markets moved offshore. Quality and customer service have always remained steadfast.

Facility

Our facility includes 9 buildings and 150,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space, which we share with several tenants. The buildings are oriented on 4 acres in a historical district of Philadelphia. We maintain an aggressive maintenance and upgrade program to keep our property in great shape and strive to upgrade our facilities to keep our company highly efficient and competitive. The installation of two highly efficient natural gas-fired boilers provided a phenomenal reduction in our energy costs. These boilers provide heat to our entire facility during the cold months and steam to the dyehouse and other production equipment year round.

Our Team

includes more than 60 people

Our team includes more than 60 people, many of whom have worked here for more than 25 years, some over 50! This long-term commitment by dedicated and well-trained employees enables us to provide quality products and services to our customers. Most of our management team started with the company and worked their way into management positions after gaining experience working on the production floor. They hold a deep understanding of the components and manufacturing process and know what it takes to produce a quality product.
